Whether it’s judo, karate, or tae kwon do, many parents worry that if they enroll their child in martial arts lessons, that their kids will end up a bloodied mess at the end of each session. However, this is just plain untrue. Martial arts are less about fighting and more about developing respect, confidence, and improving one’s personal mind and body health. Kids who are enrolled in the martial arts are no more likely to become injured than kids who are enrolled in soccer, pee wee football, or gymnastics. Here are some reasons why parents should not worry about their kids participating in martial arts.
